Q

Active Free ROM Protocol, What are they?

A
  1. Place the client in a comfortable, stable position that allows them to move the body part through the full range without being obstructed.
  2. Ensure body part is free of restrictive clothing
  3. Demonstrate each movement that allows you to observe the movement
  4. Stand in a position that allows you to observe the movement
  5. Ensure that the client does not perform accessory movements
  6. Observe for fluid, quality movement, observe clients fascial expression, and observe overall degree of movement
  7. Note any abnormal movements, pain, limitation of movement
  8. Repeat each motion 3-5 times to elicit pain response (if pain is present, stop.)
  9. Ask client about pain with every motion
  10. State clients range for each motion, and whether or not the clients range falls within normal limits (state what the normal ranges are)
