Problems
1) Location
Usually only 1 per state - patient access and logistics
Usually in basement and not familiar environment
Patients can range from stable to unwell
Often only 1-2 people inside chamber if something were to occur
Risks of oxygen toxicity
Pulmonary barotrauma
Middle ear barotrauma
Exacerbation of Congestive heart failure
- sinus brady from vagal stimulation OR systemic vasoconstriction with increased afterload
