what does the glasgow blatchford score do and what do you do with the results?
prognostic score to assess likelihood that patients will require intervention eg endoscopy or blood transfusion following a UGIB.
score of 0=discharge and subsequent outpatient endoscopy
more than 0=consider inpatient endoscopy
what blood test is used for screening for HCC?
alpha feto protein (AFP)
what are aflatoxins?
toxic chemicals produced by some fungi that can be in lots of foods that fungi can infect eg tree nuts, maize, corn
