I Isaiah 28:10
For a precept for a precept, a precept for a precept, a line for a line, a line for a line, a little there, a little there.
How is Isaiah to teach them??? Could be either “baby talk” or teach them very deliberately, “line by line.”

Will a virgin forget her jewelry, a bride her ribbons? Yet My people have forgotten Me for countless days.
Unbelievable!!! How could Israel forget God?!

Jeremiah 15:2
And it shall be if they say to you, “Where shall we go?” you shall say to them, “So said the Lord: Such as are for death, to death, and such as are for the sword, to the sword, and such as are for famine, to famine, and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”
There are lots of ways to die. This is how it’s going to be. There is no escape for you.

Jeremiah 31:19
“Is Ephraim a son who is dear to Me? Is he a child who is dandled? For whenever I speak of him, I still remember him: therefore, My very innards are agitated for him; I will surely have compassion on him,” says the Lord.
Even though I have to punish him, it hurts me more than it hurts him.

And Amaziah said to Amos, “Seer, go, run away to the land of Judah and eat bread there; and prophesy there. But do not continue to prophesy in Bethel for it is the sanctuary of a king and the capital of the kingdom. And Amos replied and said to Amaziah, “I am neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I am a cattle herder and an inspector of sycamores.

And you shall lay siege upon it and build around it a stone-throwing catapult, and you shall pour over it a siege mound, and you shall place camps upon it and place villages around it. 3. And a shoot shall spring forth from the stem of Jesse, and a twig shall sprout from his roots. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and heroism, a spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord. And he shall be animated by the fear of the Lord, and neither with the sight of his eyes shall he judge, nor with the hearing of his ears shall he chastise. And he shall judge the poor justly, and he shall chastise with equity the humble of the earth, and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips he shall put the wicked to death. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faith the girdle of his loins. And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them. And a cow and a bear shall graze together, their children shall lie; and a lion, like cattle, shall eat straw. And an infant shall play over the hole of an old snake and over the eyeball of an adder, a weaned child shall stretch forth his hand. They shall neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mount, for the land shall be full of knowledge of the Lord as water covers the sea bed.
Future Davidic lineage. He will be a wonderful and wise leader and king. All will be good and peaceful. Isaiah’s beautiful vision of end time.

Have you seen what the backsliding Israel has done? She goes on every lofty mountain and under every leafy tree, and she played the harlot there. And I said after she had done all these things: She shall return to Me. But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw [it].
The two sisters. משובה is Israel and בגודה is Judah. One sister goes whoring and is punished. The other sister sees all of this, and yet does not learn from it. You would think that Judah would have learned from Israel’s fate. But noooooooooooooooooo.

gives reason for why God tells David not to build temple. it is because he had blood on his hands. no reason given in shmuel

You shall place them in one vessel, and prepare them for yourself for food; the number of days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days you shall eat it. 10. Micah 4:1-4
And it shall be at the end of the days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be firmly established at the top of the mountains, and it shall be raised above the hills, and peoples shall stream upon it. And many nations shall go, and they shall say, “Come, let us go up to the Lord’s mount and to the house of the God of Jacob, and let Him teach us of His ways, and we will go in His paths,” for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge between many peoples and reprove mighty nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nations shall not lift the sword against nation; neither shall they learn war anymore. And they shall dwell each man under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them move, for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken.

And the Lord said to him, “Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and you shall mark a sign upon the foreheads of the men who are sighing and moaning over all the abominations that were done in its midst.”
This is the angel (the man in the white linen) with his tablet going around marking the ones that will be spared.
KNOW that the ones who are marked are marked to be spared, not killed.

Isiah (2) 40:1
Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, saith your God.
begining of second Isaiah. Message of confort.
Amos 5:21-25
I hate/reject your festivals, and I will not smell (the sacrifices) of your assemblies. For if you offer up to Me burnt- offerings and your meal-offerings, I will not accept [them], and the peace offerings of your fattened cattle I will not regard. Take away from Me the din of your songs, and the music of your lutes I will not hear. And justice shall be revealed like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. Did you offer Me sacrifices and meal-offerings in the desert forty years, O house of Israel?
This reveals that Amos thinks there were no sacrifices during the desert wandering years.
Core of Amos’ philosophy - Denying the system of sacrifice because of all the sin and injustice.
I Chron 22:5
5 And David said: ‘Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries; I will therefore make preparation for him.’ So David prepared abundantly before his death.
Chronicles likes to emphasize David’s role more than nevieim rishonim. they emphasize David (and that under him all the Temple goods were amassed) over Solomon (who actually built the Temple)
שֶׁקֶר הַחֵן, וְהֶבֶל הַיֹּפִי: אִשָּׁה יִרְאַת-יְהוָה, הִיא תִתְהַלָּל.
Proverbs 31:30
30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Job 2:11
11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.

Jeremiah 3:1
If a man sends away his wife, and she goes away from him, and marries another man, may he return to her again?
This is prohibitted in Deuteronomy.
No human husband would take back this wife, but yet, God always takes Israel back.
Ezekiel 37:16-17
- “And you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write upon it, ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel his companions’; and take one stick and write upon it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’ 17. And bring them close, one to the other into one stick, and they shall be one in your hand.

Isaiah (2) 63:9
9 In all their affliction He was afflicted,
God suffers too with our suffering.

Amos 8:2
And He said: What do you see, Amos? And I said, “A basket of late figs.” And the Lord said to me: The end has come to My people Israel. I will no longer pardon them.
Vision signifying that the end is near.
