Random Flashcards
Upper Motor injuries
Hyperreflexia
Lower motor injuries involving spinal nerve
Hyporreflexia
Grading of Ligamentous Testing (Laxity)
Grade I is 0-5 mm; Grade IV is greater than 15mm
Reflexes Grades
0= no response 1= minimal response 2= moderate response 3= brisk, response 4= clonus 1-3 are normal ranges
Acute Stage Time frame
48-72 hours
Sub-acute time frame
up to 2 months
Chronic stage time frame
3-6 months
Acute inflammation symptoms
hyperemia, increased cappilary permeability with protein and plasma leakage, swelling, elevated skin temp, and pain at rest that worsens with ROM and RMINS
Chronic Inflammation syptoms
minimal or no swelling, elevated temp, pain occurs only at the extremes of ROM, or when moderate to maximal amounts of resistance are placed on tissue; usually requires longer treatment F and D than acute.
