Explain what 1600/PC-312800 means when given the example DDR3-1600/PC312800
The memory works at 200 MHz and the bus at 800 MHz, which with the double data rate gives 1600 MT/s and nominal transfer rate of 12.8 GBps. The 1600 in teh pc number stands for the data rate, the 3 stands for DDR3 and the 12800 stands for the transfer rate which is 12.8 gbps.

What is single channel memory?
There is one 64-bit bus between the CPU and RAM.
What is Dual Channel memory
There can effectively be two pathways through the bus to the CPU, meaning that 128 bits of data can be transferred per “transaction” rather than 64 bits.
What is Error Checking and Correcting memory?
ECC memory is enhanced parity circuitry that can detect internal data errors and make corrections. ECC will detect and correct single-bit errors and allow the system to continue functioning normally.
What does DDR SDRAM stand for?
Double Data Rate Synchronus Dynamic Random Access Memory
What does MT/s stand for
Mega Transfers per second
What does SDRAM mean?
SDRAM is so-called because it is synchronized to the system clock.
