Results from cortical region
Prefrontal and parietal lobe of murderers had lower glucose metabolism in some areas.
Temporal lobe showed no difference
Occipital lobe- murderers had higher glucose metabolism
Results from sub cortical
Corpus callosum- lower
Amygdala- reduced activity in left increased in right
Thalamus- increased in right
Conclusion
Murderers pleaded guilty for reasons of insanity had different brain functioning that controls the brains. Indicating that they have a biological reason for their violence.
Aim
To show that murders brains that’s pleaded guilty for reasons of insanity were different from the brains of non- murderers
