What is a ‘Banner Repeater’ ?
Sometimes a signal can be obscured by the landscape (on a sharp bend), by a platform canopy, bridges, or other structures. Each signal should have a minimum sighting distance and if this is not met then a banner repeater can be used to extend the viewing distance. A banner repeater shows:
A horizontal black bar on a white disc if the signal it repeats is red
A diagonal black bar on a white disc if the signal it repeats is showing a proceed aspect
A diagonal black bar on a green disc if the signal it repeats is showing green
