Requires 2x drives
Doesn’t provide redundancy for data = drive fails everything is lost

Raid 1 : Disk Mirroring/duplexing
A
Requires 2 BUT works with even # drives
Mirrors data across multiple drive providing safety at the cost of space

Raid 5: Disk stripping with distributed parity
A
Data is stripped across 3 or more disks with parity info stored across multiple disks
If 1 fails the set fails!

Raid 10: Nested, stripped mirrors
A
Requires 4 drives
Mirrored pairs of drives and strips them together
Excellent speed and redundancy
