Do the personalization records ever get deleted when user make changes?
personalization records are not actually deleted only deactivated. If the user creates another personalization off the same source dashboard, the
record will be re-used with the new settings. This is done to minimize the number of records being created.
From the My Dashboards activity, how can you tell if a dashboard is set as your default dashboard? How can you tell that a dashboard is a personalized copy?
Default – Star icon
Personalized copy – Lock icon
What are the two methods an end user can use to create a personalization record?
Use the Save As button in the Dashboard Settings activity. Personalize a component on a source dashboard.
Assuming a user has the appropriate security to personalize dashboards and components, what component types can allow end user personalization?
All of them. Every component type allows at least basic personalization, such as changing the display title and color.

What do users need in order to be able to post to a message board?
They need to be listed as one of the message board’s authors within the component itself. There is no additional configuration or security points required.

Message broadcasting, listing the department name in the Distribution: Dashboards field. The message will appear on the dashboards of everyone in that department, regardless of the specific dashboards they use.
