Vicinity of AD (RAC 4-1)

A

The vicinity of an AD is defined as an area around an AD where A/C carry out manoeuvres associated with entering, leaving, or operating within a circuit. The actual dimensions of vicinity of AD depend on characteristics of A/C using the airspace.

-there is reasonable assurance that the appropriate RWY sep will exist when the landing A/C crosses the the threshold
-pilot is advised of the preceding departing or landing A/C (or personnel/vehicle crossing/vacating) and will be able to keep it in sight until RWY sep is in place
-action must be taken by the controller to ensure RWY sep is preserved
