A

Fuel light: ~10 minutes at cruise power

Aux fuel pump: No other indications land ASAP

Fuel filter: No other indications land ASAP

Filter and Aux: Land immediately

  • Lower collective
  • 70 KIAS
  • 97%-108% RRPM
  • Maneuver into the wind
  • Restart if possible
    • If unable to restart turn off fuel and uneccessary switches
  • 40 AGL flare
  • 8 AGL level ship and use collective to cushion landing

  • Engage starter

  • Perform normal autorotation
  • Unlatch doors prior to water contact if possible
  • Use lateral cyclic to stop rotors
  • Release seatbelts and clear aircraft when rotors stop

Loss of Tail Rotor in Flight

A
  • Enter autorotation
  • Maintain 70 kts or higher if possible
  • Roll into detent for landing

Forward flight may be possible above 70 kts and with low power settings. Autorotation must be entered before slowing down.

    • Shut down and inspect for damage
  • If engine fails to start:
    • Master off
