A

Turn off non-essential electrical equip
Switch ALT off and back on after 1 sec
Light stays on - land as soon as practical

A

Caused by engine or drive system failure.

Indicated by low RPM horn.

Other indicators:
- change NOISE level (less)
- LEFT yaw
- Oil pressure light
- decreasing Rotor RPM while increase engine RPM

** immediately LOWER collective to enter AUTO

POWER FAILURE ABOVE 500ft AGL

A
  1. Lower Collective
    2.Est steady Glide @ 65KIAS
  2. RPM 97- 110% (full down 4 light weight)
  3. Landing Spot select, into wind best
  4. Mayday call
  5. Restart attempt - Pilot discretion
  6. No restart - turn off UN switches and fuel valve
  7. 40ft Flare . Reduces decent and speed
  8. 8ft level ship and Raise collective to cushion touchdown. Nose Straight ahead

POWER FAILURE: 8ft to 500ft

A
  1. Lower Collective immediately
  2. RPM 97 - 110% (full down if light weight)
  3. Maintain airspeed until ground approached. Flare too reduce decent and speed.
  4. 8ft level ship and Raise collective to cushion touchdown.
    Nose straight ahead

  • enter autorotation
  • maintain 70KIAS
  • select landing site
  • roll throttle into detent
  • perform autorotation landing
  • if landing site not available, flight at low power settings and above 70KIAS
  • enter autorotation before reducing airspeed

  5. Rotor brake
  6. Exit
