A long speech directed to other actors onstage
Aside
Character stops the action to turn to audience and quickly speak; then he returns to the action
Soliloquy
An actor speaks alone onstage and expresses private thoughts or feelings that the audience hears
Foreshadowing
A hint of what is to come
