QUIZZ Flashcards
What is force?
Push,pull, or twist
What directions does force go in?
In the direction of push, pull or twist
Difference between balanced and unbalanced force?
balanced forces do not cause any change in the motion of an object, while unbalanced forces will cause a change in the motion of an object.
What is friction?
Friction opposes motion
What are the 3 types of friction?
rolling, starting, and sliding
What is gravity?
A force that pushes down weight on something
What is mass and weight?
Mass is when it doesn’t change and it calculates matter, And weight is a gravitational force.
Amount of gravity upon an object depends upon what?
Mass and the distance between them.
Know how to calculate net force?
Number,newtons and direction
What is motion?
change of position of an object overnight
What is momentum?
-A property of all moving objects
What is acceleration?
start, stop, slowing down
What is speed?
Distance travel by time
What is velocity?
Speed giving a different direction
What is air resistance?
Force cause by air
What is terminal velocity?
Maximum speed a object will reach attained by an object that falling down
What is inertia?
An object resistance to motion
What is pressure?
Force per unit area
How do force and pressure affect the movement of fluids?
slow,stop and change movement
What states of matter a fluid is and wich can be compressed -
liquid ,gas and plasma
Explaining Pascal’s Law and an example
Pascal’s law states that when pressure is applied to a confined fluid, the pressure at every point in the container will be transmitted equally in all directions. This principle forms the basis of hydraulic systems, which are used in many engineering applications
Name 4 factors of flight?
lift, thrust, drag, and weight.
How can each flight factor affect the net movement of an aircraft?
Lift is generated by the wings of the aircraft and is what keeps it in the air. Thrust is created by the engines to propel the aircraft forward. Drag is a natural force that works against the motion of an aircraft, caused by air resistance. Weight affects the amount of lift needed to keep the aircraft airborne, as more weight requires more lift.
WHat is Bernoulli’s principle?
faster fluid less pressure and less fluid more pressure
