  • The objective is to get to know the alumnae they have interviewed on a personal/professional level.
  • NMs were to have interviewed an alumnae. This is where they present to the actives, their fellow line sisters, and the alumnae what they have learned from interviewing said alum.
  • NMs and Actives are to wear business casual attire.

A

Something I Admire

  • The objective is to understand and identify the importance of each individual’s contribution to the class.
  • Actives, NMs, and Alum are to sit in a circle. A bag is passed around to the Active sisters with all the actives’ name in it. A sister will draw a name out of the bag and share a quality about that sister and what contributions they have made to the chapter that are unique. NMs then do the same within the members of their class.

Leadership Compass

  • The objective is for the NMs to realize and appreciate each other’s work styles and realize the need for variety in work styles to make our organization function.
  • NMs learn about their own leadership skills and abilities as well as how to best develop their leadership capabilities. Actives will read the different characteristics of the leadership styles and decide for themselves which one best describes them and stand at that compass direction.

Sisterhood Roundtable

  • The objective is to provide NM with a venue for open discussion in which they can build trust that they can talk to each other about anything, This should help encourage the NM that their line sisters believe in them and they can handle whatever is given to them. Also, the final comment of their NME should help bond the girls closer together and to help them realize they work better together than they do individually
  • Actives need not be present. This is to facilitate discussion amongst the NM and encourage them to be open and honest about their feelings.

Who was my Guide?

  • The objective is to emphasize the importance of trust in the Actives
  • An active will guide around a NM who has their eyes closed. NMs must learn to trust their guide as well take nonverbal cues from the guiding Active so that the NM may try and figure out who their guide is.

Replication

  • The objective is to develop teamwork and problem-solving skills as they must work together in different capacities to replicate a model
  • Actives are to create a model beforehand in which NMs are to then recreate. There are three-four positions that the NM must discuss amongst themselves who should do what. If the class is six or more, divide them into two or more groups. The positions are Runner, Looker, and Builder; if the group is bigger than three, the rest (up to 5) must be observers.

Purple Heart Sisterhood

  • The objective is to give the NM an opportunity to get to know the Actives and each other
  • The NMs are to have had their hearts signed by all the Actives and NMs by this point. They will then present their hearts to the Actives and the Actives will explain the purpose of them (it is a symbol and memory of the NM and the Actives that helped guide her throughout the process).

  • The objective is to allow everyone to learn about what others think about sacrifice. Through these stories, members will be able to learn about each other as well as reflect on what sacrifice means to them
  • Actives and NMs are to go around and share stories about sacrifices they’ve had to make. They then discuss what each story has in common (obvious, SACRIFICE)

Web of Sisterhood

  • The objective is to allow the New Members and Actives an opportunity to share their gratitude to one another
  • Actives and NMs are to sit in a circle and toss a ball of yarn to create a web. Thrower is to say something they appreciate about the person they throw it to. Once the web is made, it emphasizes everyone is connected in one way or another and what brings us all together is this one sisterhood.
