Major Depression
More intense, a decreasing mood. You don’t even know why you’re depressed, no specific reason, you just are. It is recurrent.
Reactive Depression
Occurs when something (usually an event) happens in your life; such as the death of a love one, a break up, etc.
Major Depression Episode (symptoms)
Depressed mood
-diminished interests or pleasure
-significant weight loss
-insomnia or hypersomnia
-psychomotor agitation or retardation
-fatigue
-feeling worthless or inappropriate guilt
-decreased ability to concentrate or think
-recurrent thoughts of death or suicide
-10-15% will experience these episodes
-5% have major depression
-Women are more likely to be depressed than men
