Anderson’s three worldviews
1) Theism- god exists, created universe, people created in image of god, life after death
2) Naturalism- matter and only matter exists, ethics derived only from people, life has no higher purpose
3) Postmodernism- rejects ideas that make anything or anyone Devine, no predetermined purpose of life therefore people create own purpose
Aristotle’s three forms of speech
1) Deliberative rhetoric- political communication, supports democratic process, legitimacy through opinion and will formation, presumption of reasonable outcomes based on rational arguments
2) Epideictic rhetoric- speech that is largely ceremonial, offering eulogies or tributes to the deceased and accolades to the living
3) Forensic rhetoric- from latin forensis, meaning public or marketplace, suitable for public debate; legal system where prosecution and defense of individuals occur.

Burke and Covenant
Burke examined the foundations of christian belief by analyzing the language used to explain genesis.
There is a creator (god), man was created in the image of god and understands commands, ignored the covenant by going to the tree of knowledge.
Covenant- contract between god and man that included a code of conduct, rules regarding how disobedience should be judged.
Internet and 2008 Presidential campaign
His campaign showed understanding of the transformative influence of technology. Obama’s website raised 1.5 million dollars for campaign. Internet generated massive amount of support, youtube videos increased popularity. Use of social media appealed to young voters.
