Quiz #3 Flashcards
Other than underexposure, what is the artifact?
What causes the artifact?
Grid lines
Usually due to moving grid; it is either moving too slow or NOT tuned on
Close up, it is not a processing problem, but what happens when you clean intensifying screens and put in wet?
What do you need to do?
Streaking
Need to let them dry; wipe clean w/ towel and drape towel over them to prevent dust from getting on it
What kind of screens and why shouldn’t they be used?
Split screens
unnecessary radiation exposure
What is the problem?
Light leak exposure
What is the problem?
Which views?
Double exposure
Nasium and Base Posterior
What is the small WHITE thing?
screen pitting AND cracked screen
What’s wrong?
Lack of FILM-SCREEN contact
(notice how it is slightly blurry on the bottom of the film)
What are the little BLACK dots from?
How can we fix the exposure?
static electricity
increase kV 15% AND increase mAs 2x
WHERE is the dirt?
What is the wavy thing?
IN the cassette or ON the screen
chemical splash on the screen AND dirt on screen
What are the artifacts?
support layer seen due to the CASSETTE BEING in BACKWARDS
P-A chest film; what is wrong?
What are some ways it can occur?
Grid cut-off
Tube shift (MC)
using a focused grid
FFD out of range
Parallel grid
(notice that one side is lighter than the other, and the different color of air)
Why are there 2 MARKERS?
double exposure
What’s wrong?
cassette has fallen in tray
The film is UNDEREXPOSED, what is the other problem?
How do you fix the underexposure?
grid lines
increase kV 15% OR increase mAs 2x
What is wrong with the film?
What causes it?
film grain
due to too fast of screens or too few photons
(Too HIGH kV AND too LOW mAs)
