comic opera (stand alone opera) with 3 main parts: 1. Serious message about class relationships, 2. Usually ends with a marriage, 3. Happy end arrived at through conflict.
Imbroglio
untangling of complex plot lines (finales at end of acts involving all the characters).
Chiaroscuro
effect of contrasted light and shadows falling unevenly on something
Sturm und Drang
storm and stress (depiction of violent emotion, same era as Empfindsamer Stil).
