Quiz 1 Flashcards
Semantic vs Declarative knowledge/memory
You can store a statement without knowing its memory.
Computational level
is there a way to try and compute everything that is possible to commute
1)specify the problem
2)why is there a problem or question
3)explore your limitations
Declarative knowledge/memory
deals with the facts, deductions, assertions etc.
Ex.Rumble is blue (doesn’t have to be true)
Concept
an abstract or concrete idea that represents things we have grouped together
Tri level hypothesis
1)Computational level
2)Algorithmic level
3)Implementation level
Proposition
a logical statement or assertion typically in the form of a simple sentence that can be proven true or false
Analogy
a mental representation that allows one to compare something unfamiliar to something familiar
Prospective knowledge/memory
Deals with imagined/predicted future events
ex. I will by legacy Tarn
Episodic knowledge/memory
Deals with specific experince and events
ex. One time I found 6 new transformers at the thrift store
Syllogism
3 related logical propositions
Why do product rules exist
exists to produce a thought and/or action ad/or a sequence of thoughts/actions
Semantic knowledge/memory
Memories that have meaning usually from interbreeding with other memory tpes
Procedural knowledge/memory
deals with techniques, algorithimc steps, technical instructions, processes and methods
ex. Start by transforming bees legs
Requirements for representation
1)A representation bearer
2)Content of a non symbolic reference
3)An interpreter
4)Semantics
5)Intentionallity
Representation
Something symbolic in the “mental” world that can stand for something in the physical world and vice versa
