Quick Quiz (Forces And Motion) Flashcards
Newton’s 1st Law
An object will remain at rest or continue at a constant speed if no force is acted on it
Basically, a object will stay the same unless a force is acted on it
Newton’s 2nd Law
The acceleration of an object depends on 2 things, mass of the object and the force acting upon it
E.g if you use the same force to push a truck to push a car, the car will have more acceleration than the truck because the car has a smaller mass
Newton’s 3rd Law
If body A exerts a force on body B, then body B exerts a force on body A
To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Force =
Mass x acceleration
Value of g if you are on earth
9.81 N/Kg
Weight =
Mass x gravitational field strength
Example of transverse wave
Water, seismic S
Example of a longitudinal wave
Sound, seismic P
