Questions Flashcards
What blocks the bonding site of the myosin?
Tropomyosine
What covers/protects tropomyosine
Troponine
Why is ATP required for muscle contraction?
ATP then binds to myosin, moving the myosin. Releasing the myosin head from the actin active site. ATP can then attach to myosin, which allows the cross-bridge.
Function of L- tubuli
Stores and releases calcium
Function of T - tubuli
T - tubuli starts the action potential. Stimulating the L - tubuli to release the calcium
Function of thyroxine?
Stimulates resting metabolism and stimulates growth hormones
Function of (nor) adrenaline:
Activates formatio reticularis, blood distribution (fight or flight), stimulates glycogenolysis
How does adrenaline stimulate blood distribution?
Sends more blood to the muscle: ergotropic
Example of ergotrophic:
Muscles
Example of tropotophic:
Metabolism
Basic forms of pain:
Somatogenic, visceral, neuropathy, pshyiological pain
Where does referred pain occur?
Visceral pain
What are the two function of the nerve system?
Autonomous/vegetative, animal
The autonomous/vegetative system can be divided into:
Parasympathetic (Homeostasis, metabolism, etc) sympathetic (fight or flight)
