Functions of the stomach.
Produces pepsinogen and HCl. HCl converts pepsinogen to pepsin which is an enzyme that starts digestion of proteins.
What makes up the small intestine?
Duodenum

Define nutrition.
The absorption of essential nutrients from food. The process by which food is assimilated into the body in order to nourish it for health, growth and recovery.
Define balanced diet.
A diet which contains all ingredients needed to maintain homeostasis and to prevent malnutrition.
