What would you do if a parent brought a child in with an unlabelled bottle of medicine and asked that you administer it throughout the day?
Refuse to take the medication, explain to the parent that medication needs to be clearly labelled and prescribed, stating their name, DOB, and date of prescription.

Refers to, when a drug dealer takes over a vulnerable persons home to sell/make drugs from their premises.
Can you explain our medical procedure when a child brings in a new medication they have never had before?
Children have to be given new medication at home for 24 hours before we would administer it here, due to risk of allergic reaction.
If a parent/carer comes to collect the child smelling of alcohol, what should you do?
Refuse to hand over the child and ask if someone else csn collect them. Inform the DSL and record it on the childs welfare report.
What are the 3 C’s? And who can you report ICT concerns to?

What is spiritual possession and how does it affect young people?
Spiritual possession is when a body is thought to be taken over by a spiritual being, some parents believe their child is possessed and abuse them for this reason.

When parents and continue arguing about the same things, important to note there is no physical violence.
How would you support a child who was biting each day?
Liase with SENCO if needed, encourage use of chew toys, read books about biting, ABC chart to identify triggers.

How do you plan for a child’s next steps and how do you record it?
Use the development matters as an aide alongside the curriculum of the child’s interests to identify what they can do, use them to identify next steps and record this via our reflections on our planning
What is the procedure if a child is absent from nursery?
If no contact made before 10am, call parents to record the reason of absence. If no answers then call emergency contact, and if no response by 3pm, it is to be noted on the childs wellbeing sheet in their folder. Ensure DSL is aware in the event Bromley children’s and families hub needs to be informed and record everything in diary
How are children supported if English is their second language?
During initial assessment, talk with parents about the child’s development and ask about C/L, for key words. Research language spoken at home, purchase books in home language and use pec cards, now and next boards.
What does the terms intent, implement and impact mean?
Intent - what you intend to teach the child
Implement - how you are going to do this
Impact - what impact it had on the child’s learning and development.

What is the curriculum?
Individual child’s interests, supporting and building on what they already know. Using the guidance from The Development Matters alongside the areas of learning in the EYFS.
Can you tell me what contextual safeguarding is?
It is an approach to safeguarding in ways young people may be at risk of harm outside of their home environment.
It highlights the identification and response that as young people grow they are influenced by a range of environments and people outside their family, they can encounter risk in any environment such as school, college, or their local community.
How many food allergens are there? And can you name them?
