What was were the reasons for early church persecutions?

A

The reason was that Rome had a custom of worshipping emperor as God. But Christians weren’t ready to do that and declared their faith in the true God which Roman rulers disliked. When they heard that they were receiving the flesh and blood of Jesus in the service of breaking bread and drinking blood, they were accused of killing men and eating human flesh (Cannibalism). Because of this, it made it easy to persecute the Christians.

The courageous endurance and persevering faith of the martyrs attracted many to Christian faith. Even their persecutors, seeing their faith, got converted, confessed that they too were Christians and accepted martyrdom.
