Yes
45° reversal turn timing

DME arcs have what terrain clearance?
1000ft up to 2.5nm either side of arc
Angle of bank missed approach?
Minimum of 15°
The missed approach will give a minimum obstacle clearance of __ft at a gradient of ___%?
98ft
2.5% (150ft/nm)
If climb gradient cannot be achieved, MDA/H or DA/H should be increased until it can.
Visual Manoeuvring/Circling angle of bank?
20° average, or rate 1 (3°/sec) whichever is lesser
Departure starts at what height above the end of the runway?
16ft
Screen heights?
35ft dry runway
15ft wet runway
Alternate aerodrome Minima:
At the estimated time of arrival,
Precision app:
*Ceiling 600ft or 200ft above DA/H, whichever is higher.
*Vis 3000m or 1000m above prescribed, whichever is greater.
Non-precision:
*Ceiling 800ft or 200ft above MDA, whichever is higher.
*Vis 4000m or 1500m above prescribed, whichever is greater.
Minimum height AAL before commencing a turn on a departure?
400ft
Easy way to calculate ROD on an ILS (5%)?
Either half GS x 10
Or
GS x 5
E.g 120kt = 600fpm
This gives 300ft/nm
State the 4 climb segments
1st segment: screen height to gear up (positive roc)
2nd segment: gear up to 400ft or higher flap retract height at V2 (2.4% climb min)
3rd segment: flap up, level acceleration to final climb speed (1.2% climb min)
4th segment: end of 3rd to 1500ft at or greater than 1.25Vs (1.2% climb min)
1 in 60 rule: at 60 DME, every 1° off track is how many miles?
1nm per degree
Pressure altitude formula
Elevation + ((1013-QNH)x30)
ISA values?
Pressure & Lapse rate
Temp & Lapse rate
Density
1013.25hPa
Lapse rate of 30ft/hPa
+15°C at sea level
Lapse rate of 1.98°C/1000ft up to 36,090ft then constant -56.5°C
*for density altitude correction use 120ft per degree difference from ISA

What is ETP formula?
Dist to ETP = D x H / O + H
H = distance home
O = distance out
ETP moves in to wind
What do weather conditions need to be above at destination to NOT need an alternate?
At least 1 hour either side of eta:
Ceiling is 1000ft above minima for procedure likely to be used,
Vis is 5km or 2km more than procedure, whichever is greater.
NOSE?
North = Odd thousands of feet
South = Even thousands of feet
Standard hold direction?
Right hand
Min climb gradient on a SID?
3.3% / 200ft/nm
When can you descend below MDA?
When you can maintain visual reference, make a normal approach to land with normal descent rate and manoeuvres, runway or runway lights in sight.
IFR currency?
12 monthly check
In previous 90 days
3 hours IF:
2 can be in a SIM, 1 in AC
3 approaches:
1 can be in a SIM, 2 in AC
How to work out TAS?
Add 2% of your IAS per thousand feet
1% is easy to work out then double it - 100kts @ 5,000’
*1% of 100 is 1kt, doubled is 2kt
*2(kt)x5(thousand feet) = 10kts
*100+10=110KTAS
Distance on ARC?
10nm = 6deg/nm
12nm = 5deg/nm
15nm = 4deg/nm
Lead radial on an arc?
2nm before inbound track
*12 deg for 10nm
*10 deg for 12nm
*8 deg for 15nm
Time?
15 degrees = 1hr
1 degree = 4 minutes
Drift angle required for crosswind?
Convert aircraft speed into miles per minute then divide the crosswind strength by that.
Eg 180kt with 30kt crosswind
*180kt = 3nm/min
*30 / 3 = 10 deg of drift
AOB for a rate 1 turn?
TAS / 10 + 7
*130kt = 13 + 7 = 20 deg AOB
ILS full scale deviation?
5 degrees full sweep / 2.5 degrees left or right of centre
ADSA?
Accelerate Stop Distance Available - Combined distance of runway and stop-way
