Questions Flashcards
What is the role of the sun in the water cycle?
Sun helps oceans to evaporate and help a plant to transpiration.
What are some examples of precipitation?
Rain, snow, hail and sleet.
Which of the process does water move from air to the land?
Precipitation
Where does groundwater come from?
When it’s precipitating they infilltrates into the ground.
In which of process does water move from the land to air?
When water evaporates or transpirates.
What are some problems that can occur with runoff?
As the water runs along, it picks up oil, dirts, bacterias and other chemicals. Then the water will pollute.
What happens to water vapor in the clouds?
Water vapor cools down and water molecules clump together to form droplets then precipitates.
Where does the water cycle begin?
Water cycle can’t begin or end.
If all of a sudden any parts of this system stopped, what would happen to the water cycle?
Then there’ll be no clouds which means no precipitation, then there’ll be drought and no one can survive.
Where is most of Earth’s water located?
Oceans
What human activity uses the most water worldwide?
Agriculture
What happens to the molecules in solid water when we increase heat energy?
Solid water will turn into liquid water and the molecules will move faster.
What happens to the liquid water when we decrease heat energy?
Liquid water will turn into solid water and the molecules will move slower.
What are examples of surface water?
Oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds reservoir
Explain the process which results in the formation of a cloud. What must be present for a cloud to form?
When sun heats the ocean, it’ll evaporate then become water vapor. And then when water vapor cools down because the dew point, they’ll become tiny droplets, then they clump together to form cloud.
(Must be colder air, evaporation and CCN)
