What are questionnaires?

A
  • a set list of questions, asked in the same way every time.
    -done over self-completion but can be done over the phone or face to face.
    -usually consist of mainly closed questions which creates quantitative data (numbers).

What are some strengths of questionnaires?

A

-They are generally much cheaper compared to interviews. - P
-Relatively quick to conduct compared to interviews. -P
-Obtain quantitative data (easy to compare etc- strength for positivists…) - T
- Can be geographically widespread. - T

What are some limitations of questionnaires?

A

-No way of stopping research if someone is upset. - E
-Questions may be misunderstood. - T
-Obtain quantitative data (lacks detail etc.. - Interpretivists weakness) - T
-Response rate can be low. - T
