Q

How do you answer a close reading question which involves imagery?

A

Give a definition of the imagery item. (If the imagery says something like his home was like a cocoon, then describe a cocoon!)

Then say how the imagery is effective. (You could say that the cocoon comparison is effective as it conveys how safe and comfortable his house feels.)
