Question technique Flashcards
Tips on answering the analysis questions
Start with the hypothesis then describe experiments you could use to address it. Describe the potential results of these experiments and interpret them. Discuss controls where appropriate. Follow on steps
Layout of answer
Start with a little bit of background to set it up. EXplain why the experiment is being done e.g. to see if it also works in vivo if a previous experiment was done in vitro. Explain how the measurements you’re describing were made e.g. transgenes used/ techniques. Quick summary sentence
Writing abstract
Plan first. Background e.g. of pathways. Links to disease. Aims and hypotheses. Experiment used. Summary of results. Stress importance. Include detail that may not necessarily be focused on in the other questions
