Pleural effusion - fluid in pleura
Pulmonary oedema - fluid in the lung itself

A
No, only those who get frequent exacerbations - as ICS can put COPD patients at increased risk of pneumonia

What are crepitations/crackles?
A
Sound of small airways snapping open e.g. in pulmonary oedema, infection, pulmonary fibrosis

Why do people with cystic fibrosis take enzymes?
A
- DNA-ase - to thin sputum bu breaking down DNA of dead material
- CREONS - to treat malabsorption as pancreas cannot produce digestive enzymes
