What should be done if two or more pills are missed in the first week (Pills 1-7)?
Consider emergency contraception if unprotected sex occurred in the hormone-free interval or during the first week of pill-taking.
What should be done if two or more pills are missed in the second week (Pills 8-14)?
No emergency contraception is needed if the pills in the preceding 7 days were taken correctly and consistently.
What should be done if two or more pills are missed in the third week (Pills 15-21)?
Omit the hormone-free interval.
Finish the active pills in the current pack, discard the placebo tablets, and start a new pack the next day.
