Quantitative Methods:bionmial Distribution Flashcards
Describe the p value
If the p value is less than 0.05 you reject the hypothesis
If the p value is greater than 0.05 you accept your hypothesis
What is the null hypothesis
Is a hypothesis against the research question, claiming that there is no difference in the result
What are the two types of error
Type 1 false positive
Type 2 false negative
Difference between correlation and regression
Correlation does not allow prediction, regression does
Why does the general linear model work
Because it assumes the residuals will be normally distributed
What is the purpose of the general linear model
It’s to assess the strengths and directions of relationships and differences
Eg does cholesterol level affect how well the intervention works
