Quantative chemistry ( P1) Flashcards
1
Q
What is concentration
A
A measure of how crowded the solute particles are. The more concentrated the solution the more particles contained in a given volume
2
Q
Why do reactions not have a 100% yield
A
- Some product lost or left in apparatus
- Reactants not pure
- The reaction might be reversible
3
Q
What is a limiting reactant?
A
More is needed for ideal ratio, so when it runs out (because they’re the same) it becomes the limiting reactant
4
Q
what is avogadros number
A
6.02 x 10*23
5
Q
What is the formula for atom economy?
A
Mr of all desired products/Mr of all reactants x100
6
Q
what is the formula for percentage yield?
A
(actual yield/theoretical yield) x100
