Quadrilateral properties Flashcards
Properties of a Rhombus
-All congruent sides
-Diagonals are perpendicular
-Diagonals bisect opposite angles
Properties of a Rectangle
-Diagonals are congruent (forms 4 isosceles triangles)
-All angles are right angles thus they are congruent
Properties of an Isosceles Trapezoid
-The legs are congruent (nonparallel sides)
-Both pairs of base angles are congruent
-Diagonals are congruent
Properties of a Kite
-Diagonals are perpendicular
-Only one pair of angles are congruent (the close ones)
What two things do you have to find to prove a Square in a coordinate plane?
- Distance/Pythag to prove all sides are congruent
- Slopes of opposite sides to prove sides are perpendicular
What two things do you have to find to prove a Rectangle in a coordinate plane?
- Slope of opposite sides to prove sides are perpendicular (right angles)
- Distance/Pythag to prove diagonals are congruent
What two things do you have to find to prove a Rhombus in a coordinate plane?
- Distance/Pythag to prove all sides are congruent
- Slope to prove no right angles on the sides
