What is purity linguistically and legally?

A

Purity linguistically is cleanliness. Legally, it is the removal of khabath (actual impurity) and raising Hadith (ritual impurity)

How many types of water are there?

A
3 types of water
Thahir: purifying water, 
water that comes naturally, 
can be used to remove khabath and raise Hadath 
pure Itself and can purify other things

Tahoor: pure water
water that has been mixed with a pure substance (major, not minor, change in color, odor or smell),
water used to raise hadath, water that a sane adult person has put their hands in after arising from a deep sleep or night sleep (day sleep/nap doesn’t count) and not saying the Basmala and washing hands three times,
Can’t be used to raise hadath or remove khabath
Pure itself but cannot purify other things
Can be used in cooking, cleaning, etc.

Najis: impure water
Water of a small quantity that has had contact with any khabath or large quantity that has had a minor change in smell, taste, or look.
Cannot remove khabath or raise hadath

A

What parts are impure and pure of a dead animal?

A

Dead refers to not killed according to the Shari’ah:

Bones, horns, skin and blood of animal are impure:
Skin of dead animal cannot be purified via tanning
Dead animal skin is only good for dry goods because moisture can transfer najis

Hair, wool, feathers of animal is pure, so long as the animal is pure
Pure Animal: Any edible animal or inedible animal that is smaller than a cat. (Even those bigger than a cat that are usually smaller like mice)
Impure Animal: Any inedible animal bigger than a cat (even those smaller than a cat that are usually bigger like dogs).

What are the conditions for instinja and istijmar to be valid?

A

For Istinja: The area must return to its original state through the use of water
Has to be washed at least seven times

For Istijmar: The area must get to a point where the only elements that are left are those that can only be reached by water.
Must be three wipes of the whole area of najasah
Wet tissues cannot be used
Is najasah went outside the general area, water must be used

Recommended to clean first with a stone/clothe, than with water. It is the best. Nothing wrong in drying after.
It is ok to restrict in the use of water or stones.
Water is preferable to only stones

Istijmar is the use of stones or clothe like material to remove najasah from private parts.

Instinja/Istijmar are required when the private parts excrete anything other than semen, flatulence, or dry matter.

What are the Haraam acts of using the bathroom?

A

1) To Face or turn your back to the Qiblah without having proper boundary
2) To urinate in a path where people walk.
3) To urinate on a beneficial shade.
4) To urinate on a fruit bearing/useful tree
The tree must bear something desirable to people
Poisonous fruit or a tree bearing nothing of use does not count.
5) Staying beyond the necessary time because it exposes the awrah more than needed.
6) It is Haraam to urinate in the beginning of a spring or a place where people meet, though it is permissible to enable those who do bad like gossip to not meet.

A

A

2 types:

Awrah of itself: These are the 2 private parts for men and women. These cannot be seen by anyone, nor can be exposed unless for a specific reason.

Awrah of others: This awrah is an awrah that others cannot see:
For men: between knee and navel not including either.
For women: (not mahram) whole body

What are the rulings of Siwak?

A

It is recommended to use siwak at all times except for after the adhan of Dhuhr for the one who is fasting. Then it is makrooh.

It is highly recommended:

1) before and while entering the home or masjid
2) before reading Quran
3) When the teeth become yellow
4) When your breathe changes
5) On an empty stomach
6) Before making wudu (before or after washing the mouth)
7) Before praying
8) After prolonged silence
9) When waking up

The Benefits are:

1) It helps in digestion.
2) it helps tighten the gums.
3) it reminds you of the testament of faith.

What is the Sunan of Fitrah?

A

There are 7 sunan:

1) Shaving the Pubic Hair
2)Applying Kohl Nightly
3 times in each eye
Before sleeping
3) Plucking the armpit hair
4) Looking at the mirror and saying “Alhamdulliah”
5) Cut the nails
6)Trimm the mustache
Trimming till there is a little left is highly recommended
Trimming till the hair does not overlay on the lip
7) leaving the beard
It is haram to shave it
It is makrooh to take from it less than a fists length
It is permissible to take from it more than a fists length

Sunnah to cut on friday, makrooh to leave more than 40 days.

Imam Ahmad trimmed the eyebrow and side of the face.

What are the Fard of Wudu?

A

6 fard
1) Washing the face including mouth and nose
From hairline to chin and from ear to ear
2) washing the hands and arms up to and including the elbow.
3) Wiping the whole head including the ears
4) Washing the feet including the ankles
5) maintaining order
6) Continuity - one limb should not dry before washing another
if it does then wudu is invalid
normal considering should be considered

What is the Wajdi of Wudu?

A

There is only 1 Wajib and that is the Basmalah.
If forgotten due to forgetfulness than it is lifted.
if remembered in the middle of wudu, you can either say it in the middle of your wudu and continue, or restart and say it. Both are accepted.
if omitted due to ignorance, you have to redo wudu.
