RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION/EMERGENCY DESCENT

A

“Rapid Depressurization” Called by either Pilot

PF- Calls: “Memory Checks Emergency Descent” and confirms that autopilot is engaged

			                 Both Pilots
  • Oxygen Masks . . . . . . . . . . . On/100%
  • Mic Switch . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mask

PM will:
* Passenger Signs . . . . . . . . . . . . . On
* Advise Cabin: “Emergency Descent, Remain Seated”
* Contact ATC and request descent to 10000 Feet or MSA

PF Will:

EMERGENCY DESCENT, accomplish As Req’d (Be mindful of structural damage and Speed):

  • Power Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . Flight Idle
  • Condition Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . . Max
  • Airspeed . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .VMO or lower A/S if structural damage

Once Below 10 000 Feet or MSA both pilots will remove their oxygen masks and PF will call “Emergency Descent Checklist” and PM will Obtain QRH and Action the Checklist

Captain will then call through the PA: “Flight Attendant to the Flight Deck”

ON GROUND NON-NORMAL (ENGINE FAILURE including Unscheduled Prop feather, FADEC Failure, or Oil Pressure Warning)

A

Either Pilot Observes and Calls Malfunction or Observed Caution/Warning Light

**The Captain will bring the A/C to a stop and: **

  • Emerg Brake . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . Park

**Captain will ask: “What’s the problem” and F/O will call out the problem then Captain will: **

  • Park Brake. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .SET
  • Power Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Disc
  • Condition Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . Fuel Off
  • Pull Fuel/Hyd Off Handle (aff eng). … Pull
  • Tank AUX Pumps (1 and 2) . . . . . . . .Off

Once finished Captain will state “Memory Checks Complete. On Ground Non-Normal Checklist”

F/O will then get the QRH and Action the checklist.

A

Either Pilot Observes and Calls Malfunction or Observed Caution/Warning Light

**The Captain will bring the A/C to a stop and: **

  • Emerg Brake . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . Park

**Captain will ask: “What’s the problem” and F/O will call out the problem and Declare an Emergency with ATC. Then Captain will: **

  • Park Brake. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .SET
  • Power Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Disc
  • Condition Levers . . . . . . . . . . . . Fuel Off
  • Pull Fuel/Hyd Off Handle (aff eng). … Pull
  • Tank AUX Pumps (1 and 2) . . . . . . . .Off
  • Extg Switch. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . Fwd Btl
    Wait 7 secs, if fire persists:
  • Extg Switch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Aft Btl

Once finished Captain will state “Memory Checks Complete. Evacuation Checklist”

F/O will then action the Evacuation Checklist as per section 3.8 in the SOP’s

A

Either Pilot Observes and Calls Malfunction or Observed Caution/Warning Light

**The Captain will bring the A/C to a stop and: **

  • Emerg Brake . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . Park

**Captain will ask: “What’s the problem” and F/O will call out the problem and Declare an Emergency with ATC. Then Captain will: **

**CAPTAIN will call “Memory Checks Complete and tries to figure out the source of the fire/smoke by using the EMER Call button with the Flight Attendants. **

If fire/smoke location not confirmed: Command a RAPID DEPLANEMENT

If fire/smoke is confirmed calls for the EVACUATION CHECKLIST

ABORTED ENGINE START
(Hot Start, Hung Start, Failure to Light Up)

A

If the engine does not:
* Achieve 64.2 NH within 70 Seconds from selecting Start & Feather
* ITT is exceeding limitiations
* Engine fails to light up within 16 Seconds from slecting Start & Feather

Captain will:
* Condition Lever. . . . . . . . . Fuel Off
* ENGINE Start Select Switch. . . . . .Off

Captain will observe SELCT and START LIGHT Extinguishes and **Calls for “Aborted Engine Start Checklist” **

F/O will get the checklist and complete it.

ABORTED ENGINE START (No Starter Cut-Out)

A

If the Start/Select switch (one or both):
* Doe not return to the center
* Start Light remains illuminated

Captain will call “No Starter Cut Out”
and:

  • ENGINE START SELECT switch. . . . . . . . . OFF

**Then he will call for “NO Starter Cut Out Checklist” **

F/O will obtain QRH and accomplish it.

A

The CAPTAIN will accomplish:

  • Confirm APU Automatic Shutdown:

APU RUN Light . . . . . . . . . . . . . Out
APU FAIL, APU BTL LOW, and
FUEL VALVE CLOSED Advisory Lights . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .On
If APU BTL ARM or APU FIRE Advisory light
remains illuminated after 7 seconds:

F/O will advise ATC of the APU fire and tell them:
- Position on the airfield
- Fuel on board
- Souls on Board
- Dangerous Goods
