Rudder Trim Actuator Runaway
Rudder trim - Opposite to runaway
Rudder Jam
Apply normal push force on affected rudder panel
Rudder pedal moves as required
Yes: Reduce push force on affected rudder pedal and allow rudder to center.
No: Rudder pedal does not respond to normal push force (rudder remains jammed or rudder jam reoccurs). > Use roll control as required for directional control.
Roll Control Jam
Autopilot: Disengage
Roll disconnect handle: Pull and turn 90 deg
Control columns: Both pilots attempt roll control
Pilot with free control wheel will fly the aircraft.
Rudder Actuator Malfunction
Illuminated RUD switchlight: Push off
Roll Control Malfunction
Roll control: Apply to hold wings level
Continuous illumination of SPLR 1 or SPLR 2 PUSH OFF swichtlights
Yes: Illuminated SPLR switchlight > Push off
No: Power apply, Airspeed increase
Aileron Trim Runaway
Airspeed: Reduce
Aileron trim: Opposite to runaway
Elevator Jam
Autopilot: Disengage
Flap & airspeed: Maintain at time of jam
Control columns: both pilots try to overcome jam
If unable to overcome jam:
Control column force: Relax
Pitch disc handle: Pull and turn 90 deg
Control columns: both pilots attempt pitch control
Pilot with free control will fly the aircraft.
Max airspeed 170 kts or speed at which jam occurred, whichever is greater.
Elevator Trim Runaway
Elevator trim shut off: Push off
