Colour, shape, material, accessories, props and make-up.
What criteria should be met in the costume design?
There should be many detailed and imaginative annotations. These should be related to the extract and its context, as well as the contexts of the play itself.
What criteria should be met in the costume justification?
Justification must be relevant to the situation of the extract.
Period and status of the character must be referenced!
A relevant quote from any part of the play should be identified and linked back to your justification.
Props and accessories must also be justified.
What are the connotations of the colour red?
Dangerous, energetic, passionate, powerful, harmful
What are the connotations of the colour yellow?
Joyful, optimistic, cowardly
What are the connotations of the colour green?
Youthful, natural, jealous
What are the connotations of the colour blue?
Calm, trustworthy, depressed
What are the connotations of the colour black?
Formal, sophisticated, mournful, death
What are the connotations of the colour purple?
Mysterious, wise, regal
What are the connotations of the colour white?
Innocence, purity, surrender
