Step 2: Immersion
The individual retains the gathered knowledge for a period of time. He or she does not appear to be actively involved in solving the problem; yet, the subconscious mind is. While the data simmers, it gets organized into new meaningful patterns.
Step 3: Incubation
The answer to the problem flashes into the person’s head unexpectedly, such as on the edge of falling asleep, while showering, or while running. Additionally, insight is referred to as the Aha! Experience.
