Define “Sick role” theory

Is a way of explaining the particular rights and responsibilities of those who are ill. … Parsons saw the sick role as a form of deviance, or going against societal expectations, because an ill person has different patterns of behavior than the normal.
Stage of Pre-contemplation
-In this stage, the person does not recognize or is in denial about the need to stop smoking.
His comment about the uncle who smoked all of his life and died at age 95 of natural causes demonstrates his refusal to acknowledge the problem.

the patient is thinking about it but is ambivalent about making the needed change

1) Histrionic personality disorder (HPD) disorder characterised by a pattern of excessive attention-seeking emotions, usually beginning in early adulthood, including inappropriately seductive behavior and an excessive need for approval.
2) Only use Closed-Ended Question for this personality type (limits responsiveness)
Passive-aggressive Personality
behavior include: bitterness and hostility toward other peoples’ requests. intentionally delaying or making mistakes when dealing with other peoples’ requests. having a cynical, pessimistic, or aggressive demeanor
Dependent Personality
(DPD) is an anxious personality disorder characterized by an inability to be alone. People with DPD develop symptoms of anxiety when they’re not around others. They rely on other people for comfort, reassurance, advice, and support.
