Tell me about a time you were counseled.

A
  • What comes to mind immediately is the counsel I received once I was going to start at SkyWest. To make sure I stayed focused, learn as much as possible from the captains and follow the rules (don’t get violated).

Q

Tell me about a challenging flight?

A

Alternator failure with Jason out of RNM resulting in loss of electrical. Having to communicate with international student without comms and communicate with ATC since busy airspace. I heard great feedback from ATC. They told me that I had handled it well and because I was able to establish communications they didn’t need any further info from me

16
Q

TMAAT someone tried to get you to break the rules.

A

Captain wanting to takeoff above max takeoff weight.

17
Q

TMAAT you disagreed with a superior?

A

?

18
Q

What are your best characteristics and strengths?

A

I’m hospitable. I treat everyone with respect and kindness. I believe teamwork makes the dream work. I’m a good listener. I want everyone around me to be in the best spirits. If you’re happy I’m happy. I ‘m Professional and reliable. I ability to learn new skills and be coached.

19
Q

What’s the worst part of job?

A

Well industry wide and this isn’t specific to any company. My least favorite part of the job is the unforeseen delays. It could mechanical, weather, crew. A lot time can get wasted when these things happen. I realize it’s part of the job. I’ve learned to take advantage of these delays when able to get some food or use the restroom, catch up with family when the delay doesn’t involve being stuck on the airplane. Turn into something positive and useful.

20
Q

What is misconception about you?

A
21
Q

Has your integrity ever been questioned?

A
22
Q

TMAAT you flew with a difficult pilot.

A

Micromanaging. Really the captain would just do everything and not give the chance to do it. Or they would tell me to do something while I’m actually doing it. I let them know politely that they were operating out of SOPM by doing tasks that were mine.

23
Q

Tell me about a time you made a mistake?

A

When programming our takeoff fuel, I accidentally put the fuel for 500lbs less than we were. During taxi I checked take off fuel with actual fuel and caught my mistake. I repopulated correct fuel amount and sent for our take off numbers again. The number and thrust setting were different and we were able to takeoff safely.

24
Q

What will be the biggest challenge coming to Southwest?

A

Learning a new airplane is always challenging and fun. Something new about being in training is my daughter. I didn’t have her when I went through training on the erj, now that she is here I’ll definitely miss my time with her and her Mom.

25
Q

TMAAT you got out of your normal routine to accomplish a task.

A

I always arrive to the airport early to start the day. One day during the pre-flight inspection I found a maintenance issue that I wanted to get sorted as soon as possible to try and avoid a delay. I called the captain and asked if he could write up and submit it to maintenance before he even arrived to the airplane.

26
Q

How do you define a good job?

A
  • Feel valued as an employee or even just valued as a member no matter the position you hold
  • feel respected
  • a place where you want to do your best
  • encouraged to work as a team
27
Q

Have you ever witnessed someone violate an SOP?

A

Yes. I remember we were taxiing towards the runway. We were moving faster than usual in order to make our wheels up time. Our SOPM states we can’t take a turn while taxiing faster than 10 knots. The captain was going roughly 13-15 knots around the turn. I noticed it but didn’t say anything right at that time. I thought clearing for traffic was more important than. We debriefed on the ground at our destination

28
Q

Tell me about a time that you did not adequately prepare for a flight.

A

Private pilot check ride. I had a long oral. So my weather planning I had done in the morning was no longer valid. The Damien’s asked me if I was ready and I told him I was. In the end, I didn’t check current weather conditions and forecasts in the surrounding area outside of Atis. When we took off, we saw storms in the distance. I was asked about wx briefing. I said now and that was it.

29
Q

TMAAT you had to change strategy or action to meet deadline.

A

Packing sculptures at a particular artist studio, I managed a crew of typically 4-6 people. Depending on what was needed, I would have to start switching up tasks and duties to work with peoples strengths to get things packed faster and even request more help when delays occurred.

30

A

Steve goldberg

31
Q

Who is president and Chief Operating Officer?

32

I’m here to offer my services as a pilot, friend , and fellow coworker working towards the same common goal to be the best that we can be while being ourselves and as an employee exemplifying outstanding service to the customers.
