The institute of medicine defines health care quality as “the degree to which health care services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge.”
Good quality health care that ensures patients recieve propper care that is consistent across the board, with good outcomes.

Relates to providing care processes and achieving outcomes as supported by scientific evidence.
How effective is the care provided?
Efficiency
Relates to maximixing the quality of health care delivered or health benefit achieved for a gicen unit of health care resources used.
Time and money (wasteful or necessary)
Equity
Relates to providing health care of equal quality to those who may differ in personal characteristicd other than their clinical condition or preferences for care.
Treating all patient with qyality health care. As radiation therapists we should treat every patient with the utmost care.
Patient centeredness
Relates to meeting patients’ needs and preferences and providing education and support
Safety
Relates to actual or potential bodily harm.
Timeliness
Relates to obtaining needed care while minimizing delays.
Quality Assurance (Q.A)
Defined as “all those planned or systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that a product or service will satisfy given requirements for quality.
Oncology QA
The action it takes to ensure radiation therapy facilities consistently delivers high-quality care in the treatement of patients to lead to the best outcomes with the least amount of side effects.
