Pulmonary ventilation- Volume Flows Dead Space And Preoxygenation Flashcards
1
Q
What are the three constitutes of dead space ?
A
- Equipment apparatus - eg HMEF, face mask, circuits
- Anatomical - larger conducting airways
- Alveolar - gas from alveoli which are poorly perfumed eg alveoli which high V/Q ratios
2
Q
What is dead space ?
A
Volume of inspired air which does not take part in gas exchange and typically makes up 30% of normal tidal volumes
