CUE: pg. 3, NARRATOR- “Seven years that were, in one word, eventful. It begins as these stories tend to begin… WITH A SORTING!”
Come on the stage (right) and go through the sorting almost in slow motion
CUE: pg. 5, last line in scene prior of NARRATOR- “YEAR ONE: THE PUFFS AND THE SORCERER’S ATTEMPT AT EARNING POINTS AND MAKING FRIENDS
LEANNE: Guys. Guess what? WE’RE ALL WIZARDS.
CUE: pg. 6, “… Who’s THAT? It’s… me. Hannah. I’m Hannah.” “HI!”
LEANNE: I was raised in a cabin by my grandparents and you’re the first other children I’ve ever seen, oh and I’m a wizard. And my name is Leanne.”
CUE: pg. 9, MEGAN- “Yep. And my mom was one of his most feared followers. I warn you… I’m just as awesome and scary as she is.”
On balcony, LEANNE: Megan! Our beds are stacked on top of each other. MAGICALLY!
CUE: pg. 9, MEGAN- “… It’s a bunk bed?”
LEANNE: We’re wizards!
CUE: pg. 11, A CERTAIN POTIONS TEACHER- “Wrong. That’s the ocean.”
LEANNE: It’s a starchy root vegetable!/ It’s the head of the Catholic Church!/ It’s that dance where everyone is a train! Choo choo!/ It’s the water that surrounds all the continents!/It’s that stuff that smells good!
CUE: pg. 11, A CERTAIN POTIONS TEACHER- “I will eat a shoe. Ten points from the Puffs.”
LEANNE: I ate a shoe once. It didn’t taste good but it didn’t taste bad.
CUE: pg. 13-15, continuous
They are all-scenes, follow along with group lines, 3 move into 4: moves into bedroom, “We are not a treat! Please be our friend?!” leave when Cedric goes to bed, leave with him
CUE: pg. 21, come in with Ernie, Hannah, J. Finch, and Sally on balcony, SALLY PERKS- “No. It’s Olive Gardium Leviosahh.”
LEANNE: We’re wizards!
CUE: pg. 23, FIRST HEADMASTER: “Ha ha! Oh me. “ PUFFS: “Awww.”
LEANNE: Hey. Don’t be sad. This year we learned skills, built friendships, and nobody died except that teacher! What a year! You can’t put a number on life! Unless you can, in which case, it’s four. Fourth place for us!
CUE: pg. 32, MEGAN JONES: “If you need me, we will be out there being both rebellious and charming. And Brave!”
LEANNE: Guys! Guys! Guys. Come to my slumber party! It’s in the Great Hall! On the floor! It’s going to be so much fun. But I warn you: I snore! Want to see? [fall asleep, DON’T snore]
CUE: pg. 32, WAYNE HOPKINS: “… Leanne?”
LEANNE: Sorry! I was having a dream I was a unicorn, only I didn’t have a horn and I was eating hay.
CUE: pg. 32, WAYNE AND OLIVER: “Sorry, ooh, I’ve got a lot going on, can’t, I think.”
LEANNE: Aw. Everyone is busy.
CUE: pg. 35, PUFFS: “We are not a threat. Please be our friend.”
LEANNE: Guys! Guys! THE WHOLE SCHOOL CAME TO MY SLUMBER PARTY! Why is everyone so sad and frightened?! (come on from left, stand slightly left from the center, speak out to the audience and glance slightly to the others)
CUE: pg. 36, CEDRIC: “Everyone, I’ve been told to inform you it looks like we’ll be spending the whole night here.”
[simultaneously] PUFFS: Awww. LEANNE: Yay!
CUE: pg. 37, MEGAN JONES: “… so they just gave her all the dumb kids. The Puffs. The end.”
LEANNE: … Worst slumber party ever.
CUE: pg. 39-40, CEDRIC points wand at LEANNE and keep fidgeting while trying to balance the bottle on head. Go up on the balcony when the lights go out. SUSIE: “I know how you feel. Life is a nightmare.” PUFFS: “Yeah.”
LEANNE: Guys?! I don’t know how I got out here?!
CUE: pg. 44, MEGAN JONES- “Do you even have to ask?”
LEANNE: FOURTH PLACE!
CUE: pg. 45, HANNAH- “He fixed these glasses I was holding!”
LEANNE, J. FINCH, HANNAH: Woooow.
CUE: pg. 45, CEDRIC: “Getting to compete against three great wizards, and learn all about other wizard cultures? I think I already won.”
LEANNE, J. FINCH, HANNAH: Awwww.
CUE: pg. 45, CEDRIC: “Sure. I’ll see you all later.”
HANNAH and J. FINCH: *Bye, Cedric! *Good luck!
LEANNE: You’re a wizard, Cedric!
CUE: pg. 51, OLIVER RIVERS- “How about this? Right now, forget her, forget nerves, and just ask the next person you see.” WAYNE- “Okay.”
LEANNE: Hiiii!
CUE: pg. 51, OLIVER RIVERS- “Leanne, Wayne here has a question.”
LEANNE: A question, what’s that?
CUE: pg. 51, WAYNE HOPKINS- “Well, would you like to go with me?”
LEANNE- Just my imaginary friend, J. Finch Fletchey. But I said no because… he’s imaginary.
