What is gender based violence?
Violence that is directed against a woman because she is a woman, or violence that affects women disproportionately. It includes act that inflict physical, mental or sexual harm or suffering.

What is article 25?
If a child has been placed away from home for the purpose of care or protection (for example, with a foster family or in hospital), they have the right to a regular review of their treatment, the way they are cared for and their wider circumstances
What is child protection?

Risk factors for abuse?
- Social and environment eg poverty, frequent moves
- Parental eg mental health, substance misuse/learning disability/ domestic abuse / non-engaging parent
- Children eg disability ,complex health needs, large families,unwanted pregnancy
How are children protected?
- Midwifery till baby is 10 days old
- Home visits till child is school age
- School nurse till child leaves education
What are some common themes when things go wrong?
