How does CBT work?
A
Looks how cognition (thoughts, beliefs and attitudes) affects your feelings and behaviours

It teaches people coping kills for dealing with different problems

How does focal psychodynamic therapy work?
A
It looks at unresolved conflicts from the past and how this could have affected them. It then looks at more successful ways of coping with negative thoughts and emotions
