Adopts the idiographic - using one pp means u gain lots of rich data
Qualitative data - greater degree of understanding

Based largely on non generalisable samples - rich upper class eu
Deterministic
No way of testing that assumptions are true
Assumptions of Psychodynamic Approach
Human development is a dynamic process
Early experiences are very important for shaping personality & relationships
