Reference delulu
Random events, objects or the behaviours of others, have a significance to oneself
Persecutory delulu
Other people are conspiring against them in order to inflict harm or destroy their reputation.
Grandiose delulu
One has special powers, is talented, wealthy or important. Grandiose delusions may be religious in nature, e.g. one is chosen by God.
Guilt delulu
One has done something sinful or shameful
Nihiistic delulu
A false belief that oneself, others, or the world as a whole does not exist, has ceased to exist, or is meaningless.
Delusional perceptions
A false belief that a real sensory experience has a different or distorted meaning e.g. Man at traffic lights sees light turn from Redgreen and sees this as a command to kill people
Folie a deux delulu
A syndrome in which delusional belief is shared between two people. Often the two people are from the same family
Capgras delulu
Delusion belief that a close friend or family member has been replaced by identical -looking impostor or double
Fregoli delulu
AKA ‘delusion of doubles’ A person believes that different people are actually the same person in disguise
Ekbom’s delulu
Delusion belief that their skin or body is infested with parasites or insects despite there being no evidence
Othello’s delulu
Person holds an intense. Irrational and persistent belief that their romantic partner is being unfaithful or is about to be unfaithful despite there being no evidence
De Clerambault’s delulu
Person holds a delusional belief that another person, usually of higher social status is in love with them
Cotard’s delulu
Person holds a belief that they are dead, do not exist or have lost their organs or bodily functions
Passivity delulu
person holds the delusional belief that their thoughts, actions, or emotions are being controlled by an external force or entity, despite there being no evidence to support this belief.
What is delulu’s
a fixed, unshakable belief/idea that is not amenable to argument or evidence to its contrary, and not in sync with regional and cultural norms.
